COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT FORUM
To meet the challenges of the Business World and to acquire knowledge about emerging trends in Commerce, Commerce and Management Forum has been functioning in our College since 2003.
Our main objectives are:
- To acquire knowledge of management techniques to suit the needs of Global Business Environment.
- To identify individual potential of learners and provide for opportunities of personality development.
- To attain excellence and managerial expertise to match the demands of the competitive world.
- To develop appropriate skills to understand business strategy with theoretical and practical view point and approach.
Activities
Annual Report for the year 2016-17- A One -Day State Level Seminar “Global Paradigm in Indian Manufacturing Sector” was held on 4th August 2016. Dr.S.Selvarani, Principal delivered presidential address. Dr.M.Selvam, Prof. School of Management, Alagappa University inaugurated the seminar. Prof.Dr.T.R.Gurumoorthy, Dean of Research, Alagappa University and Mr.SP.Chokkalingam, Consultant, Chokka Academy of Quality, Chennai delivered special addresses on topics “Learning from FMCG Leaders by Indian Manufacturing ”, “Towards Triumphant Quality in Indian Manufacturers” respectively. About 200 students participated & certificates were distributed.
- A One -Day State Level Conference META -2016 (Manufacturing & Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Employment , Trade & Administration Trends in the Global Scenario - 2016) was held on 11th February 2016. Dr.S.Selvarani, Principal delivered presidential address. Dr.V.Manickavasagam, Prof.& Head, Dept.of Corporate Secretaryship, Alagappa University inaugurated the conference. Technical Sessions were chaired by Mr.SP.Chokkalingam, Consultant, Chokka Academy of Quality, Chennai ,Mr.D.Rajendran, Managing Director, MRT Chemicals & Karaikudi & Dr.P.SureshKumar , Director, Alagappa University Study Circle, Karaikudi on topics “Entrepreneurship Trends in the Global Scenario” , “Employment Opportunities & Career Guidance” and “Manufacturing Trends in the Global Scenario respectively. About 60 students from affiliated colleges of AU participated & certificates were distributed.
- On 7.10.2015 a seminar on “Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet-2015” was conducted. Principal Dr.S.SelvaRani presided over the function. Dr.M.Gurupandi, Asst.Prof. of IB & Commerce, AU was the chief guest and explained the importance of global investment.
- Two-Day International Conference META -2014 (Manufacturing & Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Commerce,
Trade & Technology and Administration &Accounting Trends in the Global Paradigm) was held on 18th and 19th September 2014.
Dr.S.Selvarani, Principal delivered presidential address. Dr.M.Selvam, Chairman, School of Management, Alagappa University delivered the inaugural address.

Financial Service Consultant, Singapore, Mdm Tee Ah Guad, Hardware Retail Sole Proprietor, Singapore, Dr.T.R.Gurumoorthy, Director, DDE, Alagappa University, Karaikudi,
Dr.G.Naresh, Asst. Prof of Commerce, Pondicherry University, Ms Goh Chee Kheng, Bank Officer, Singapore on topics ‘Manufacturing Trends in the Global Paradigm’, ‘Entrepreneurship Trends in the Global Paradigm’,
‘E-Commerce Trends in the Global Paradigm’, ‘Administration Trends in the Global Paradigm’,’ Trade Trends in the Global Paradigm’, ‘Technology Trends in the Global Paradigm’ respectively.
Sri.Kalyana Sundaram, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, New Delhi delivered the Valedictory Address. Students & faculty members from various Colleges and Universities presented papers.
