NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
National Service Scheme is an Indian Government sponsored program under the Department of youth affairs and sports of the Government of India. It was started in 1969. The motto of the NSS is “Not me, Not you, But we”. This phrase expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless services.
The main aim of National Service Scheme is personality development through social service or community service. National service Scheme volunteers work hard day and night to ensure that every possible help from them so that they can also enhance their standards.
National Service Scheme of the College under the guidance of Alagappa University functions from 1997-98. The motto is “HEALTHY YOUTH FOR HEALTHY INDIA”. Every year special camp is organized in a village for 7 days. Medical camps, Spiritual programs, speech by experts, tree plantations, veterinary camps and workshops related to small scale industry, games for children and cultural activities are conducted by the NSS units of the College. There are 3 NSS units in the College.
