IQAC (INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL) Quality of Education is a soul determinant of quality of culture, thought, action and development of any nation and even the world. Quality Education starts from UG to PG and extends beyond. While external quality control measures are necessary, internal quality assurance mechanism is of utmost importance in order to strategize, organize, characterize, routinize and internalize quality factors in an institution. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (IQ) and Quality Enhancement activities of the institution. Functions of the IQAC

  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities
  • Promotion of all quality circles of the college
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education
  • Organization of workshops/seminars/Conference on quality related themes
  • Documentation of the various programs / activities leading to quality improvement
  • Collecting feedback from students on all activities of college
  • Conducting External Expert and Student Appraisal of Staff on teaching and student support

Activities of the IQAC

  • Feedback from students about academic quality is collected once in a month and remedies are made regarding teaching, learning, etc.
  • Remedial Coaching is arranged for poor achievers in all subjects
  • Grammar Coaching to improve the communicative skills and linguistic ability among students, regular grammar coaching classes are conducted
  • Conducted counseling for the fresher’s regarding choice of courses
  • Took efforts to strengthen the Placement Cell and arrange the job fair
  • Conducted one day workshops for Teaching faculty on preparing for re-accreditation
  • Monitored the centralization of the continuous internal assessment
  • Monitored departments in the allotment of wards to mentors
  • Updated and recorded information regarding research, seminar, conference, symposium, etc., and publications of faculty members.
  • Arranged exit meetings for outgoing students.
  • Consolidated the feedback forms and documents for implementation of recommendations.
  • We plan to organize orientation for the teaching faculty according to needs of their discipline at the beginning of every academic year

II Seminars / Conferences & Workshops organized by IQAC during 2016-17
  • On 17.09.2016 IQAC organized a seminar on “ Career Awareness” . Dr.S.SelvaRani , Principal presided over the function .Mr.Kathiresan, G.M(Rtd), ICICI Bank , Karaikudi delivered a lecture on “Career as Company Secretary”. 172 students and 5 Faculties attended the program.
  • IQAC organized Bridge Course for freshers on Communication Skills in English from 12.07.2016 to 16.07.2016. During the five day program , basic grammar classes were conducted and students were given assignments and tests to enrich their knowledge in English.

  • On 27.09.2016, IQAC organized a special lecture on“ Culture and Heritage of Ancient Tamil People”. Dr.S.Senthamizh Pavai, Prof & Director, Center for Tamil Culture, Alagappa University addressed.
  • IQAC enhances e-learning .To facilitate the teaching – learning process, e-teaching is executed by every faculty twice in a month using LCD Projector. PPT Slides prepared by the concerned faculties are available in the e-library for use of the students.
  • IQAC organizes training programs monthly to make the teachers and students aware of the latest developments in the ICT oriented technology.


Seminars / Conferences & Workshops organized by IQAC during 2015-16
  • Program on Career guidance was organized by IQAC on 11.02.16, Dr.P.Suresh Kumar, Director, study circle; AU spoke on “Career Opportunities”. About 200 students and faculty members participated in our College.
  • IQAC organized quiz competition on general knowledge and current affairs on 29.9.15. 52 students participated.
  • On 12.08.2015, Principal Dr.S.SelvaRani delivered a special address on Civil Services Examination which was organized by IQAC.
  • To inculcate communicative skills among the students regular spoken English classes are organized weekly twice by IQAC. On 06.01.2016 Dr.N.Kalaithasan spoke on “Communicative Language Teaching” and Mr.N.Krishnamoorthy delivered a lecture on “Effective Tools of Communication”.
  • IQAC enhances e-learning .To facilitate the teaching – learning process, e-teaching is executed by every faculty twice in a month using LCD Projector. PPT Slides prepared by the concerned faculties are available in the e-library for student’s use.
